Shawn Allen is the technical lead for real-time visualization and graphics at the Driving Safety Research Institute (DSRI). He joined in 1997 and is a part of the team that developed the real-time virtual environment for the National Advanced Driving Simulator.

Mr. Allen has an extensive graphics background ranging from traditional artist media to real-time computer-generated parametric 3D environments. Project experience includes synthetic environment generation in geo-typical and geo-specific forms, road network generation, and integrating GIS data into the VE construction process.

Current interests include integrating roadway engineering models into simulator environments, game graphics techniques, and computer graphics modeling.
